Egyptian FM confers with German parliamentary delegation
Egypt-European Union, Politics, 5/31/1999

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa on Sunday in Cairo discussed with a German parliamentary delegation led by Junta Klora conditions in the Middle East and the results of Moussa's Saturday visit to Damascus.

In a statement following the meeting, Klora said the European Union, and Germany in particular are interested in the peace process in the region. The German official stressed the desire of the two sides (Germany and the EU) to give this process a push forward according to the basics it started from and the land-for-peace formula.

Klora stressed the EU's backing for the establishment of a Palestinian state. He added that Moussa told the German delegation that both Syria and Lebanon are interested in reaching a genuine peace. He asserted the importance of Israel's implementation of all obligations and agreements.
