An agreement with Tehran to release more Iraqi prisoners

The chairman of the Iraqi delegation to the talks on the issue of the prisoners and missing which was held recently in Iran, Fahmi al-Qeisi, has said that a new shift of Iraqi prisoners will return to Iraq at the beginning of August. In statements to reporters in Baghdad on Thursday, al-Qeisi added that an agreement in this respect was reached with the Iranian side.

He added that the number of prisoners to be released will be determined in August during an expected meeting to be held at the end of July in Baghdad with the Iranian side. Al-Qeisi described the recent talks held between the two sides as serious and of joint understanding.
