High level Moroccan-Saudi talks in Rabat

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid on Wednesday in Cairo received a reply message from Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani relating to Qatar's efforts to reach a reconciliation agreement between Sudan and Eritrea. The message was conveyed by Qatar's representative at the Arab League, Muhammad al-Khaleifa, during his meeting with Abdul Meguid on Wednesday. Abdul Meguid expressed his appreciation for the role played by the emir of Qatar in concluding the reconciliation agreement signed between the Sudanese and Eritrean presidents on May 2. The agreement is to help in improving relations between Sudan and Eritrea.

At least 26 persons were killed and another 53 wounded due to the eruption of fighting between two warring Somali factions in a town near Beedawa. The extremist organization of Aden's Islamic Army threatened all foreigners in Yemen with assassination if its chief whom was sentenced to death by a Yemeni court after being convicted of kidnapping western tourists in Yemen - is not pardoned. The organization said Wednesday that "negotiations between the Yemeni government and it regarding its chief Zein al-Abidin and his colligues existing in the prisons." The statement added "if the negotiations failed, all foreigners in Yemen (ambassadors and doctors) must leave Yemen."
