Arab League criticizes Washington's support for Iraqi opposition

The Arab League criticized today the United States' support for the Iraqi opposition to topple the government of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
Abd El-Magid said, "Changing the ruler is the people's responsibility," not of foreign countries, adding that Washington's support for the opposition does not have any legal support and that the Arab countries could not participate in any plans to topple the Iraqi president.
Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Arab Affairs Ahmed Ben Hali said, "What Turkey mentions about chasing members of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in the Iraqi lands cannot be accepted, as it is a violation of the sovereignty of an Arab country."
He asked Turkey to respect the relations of good neighborhood in its relations with the Arab states.
