Libya, South Africa sign two cooperation agreements

The minutes of meetings of two cooperation agreements were signed on Tuesday night between Libya and South Africa in the field of trade and in establishing a joint committee on economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also signed the minutes of meeting providing for developing cooperation between the two countries in various fields and an agreement to establish a committee of experts to study the prospects for execution of these agreements.

On the Libyan side the agreement was signed by the secretary for the Libyan people's committee for the economy and trade (economy minister), Abd al-Hafidh Mahmud Zalitni, and his South African counterpart, Alec Erwin, on behalf of his country.

Meanwhile, Libyan President Col. Moammar Gaddafi on Wednesday received a message from President Nelson Mandela of South Africa pertaining to current conditions in the African continent and the efforts exerted to end bloody struggles and conflicts, taking place in certain areas of the African continent. The message was handed over by director of President Mandela's office during his meeting with Gaddafi on Wednesday in Tripoli.
