Moroccan victims of second gulf war will be paid compensations

Morocco has been informed recently by the United Nations that the hundreds of Moroccan nationals, victim of the second Gulf War, will be paid reparations shortly, the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat daily reported on Tuesday.
All persons who have filled the U.N. forms and who meet the criteria set for compensating the victims of the Gulf War will be paid reparations, the daily said, quoting an official from the Moroccan foreign affairs department.
The daily recalled that 635 Moroccans had returned to Morocco at the outbreak of the war, while hundreds of them still live in Iraq.
The Moroccan official told the daily that the Moroccan nationals live in normal conditions in Iraq and that their situation is not worrying.
