Qatari emir visits Germany

Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, left Doha today, heading to Germany in his first visit to the country, during which he is to meet with high-ranking officials to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and issues of joint concern.
Sheik Hamad will sign with the German counselor Gerhard Schroeder an agreement for technical cooperation and additional attachment for the air transportation agreement that was signed in 1996 and encouraging mutual investment and enhancing economic cooperation.
Sheikh Hamad will visit Berlin which became the formal headquarters of the German government during the current year, as well as delivering a lecture about Qatar's economic potentials that will be attended by high-ranking Arab and German businessmen.
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jabir Jasem al-Thani said in press statements yesterday that the Qataris and Germans will discuss mutual concerns, the Middle East peace process, and the Kosovo crisis.
