Sudanese, Somali, and African conflicts the focus of Cairo University conference

Institute for research and African studies at Cairo University will convene its annual conference for African studies under the title "Conflicts and civil wars in Africa" on Saturday. Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa will speak in the opening session as well as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mufid Shehab.
The conference will discuss the civil war in Sudan as well as the issue of south Sudan and the civil war in Somalia. It will also address the historical dimensions of conflicts and civil wars by presenting other patterns from East Africa (Eritrea and Ethiopia) and patterns from West Africa (Sierra Leone, Chad, Guinea Bissau) as well as patterns from Central Africa (Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
