Kuwaiti Cabinet discusses Jordanian King's visit, praises al-Hoss' stances
Kuwait-Regional, Politics, 5/24/1999
The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Sunday debated in a message sent recently by King Abdullah Bin Hussein Prince Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah in which the King accepted the visit to Kuwait in the "course of the care of the two countries' leadership and promoting them in various fields as well as to exchange viewpoints regarding various debated issues."
The statement which was released by the weekly session of the Cabinet on Sunday did not define a set date for the visit of the Jordanian King, while Kuwaiti dailies said that the visit may be held by the end of May.
However, the political boycott between the two states, started with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, ended officially in early March following the visit of Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah al-Khatib to Kuwait, and he hoisted a flag at the headquarters of the Jordanian embassy in Kuwait.
On the other hand, the Kuwaiti Cabinet expressed the appreciation of the state of Kuwait and its gratitude over the position expressed by Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss, who expressed "Lebanon's categorical rejection of the aggression launched by Iraq against Kuwait."
The Kuwaiti Cabinet expressed Kuwait's backing for legitimate Arab rights, especially concerning the Syrian and Lebanese tracks according to UN Security Council resolutions.
Al-Hoss met with several Kuwaiti businessmen, members of the Kuwaiti chambers of industry and trade and representatives for the Lebanese community.
