An emergency meeting for OIC foreign ministers to discuss Kosovo impasse
Regional-Turkey-Yugoslavia, Politics, 5/22/1999
Egypt stated its approval for the Turkish government attending an emergency meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference's foreign ministers, for which Ankara has called.
Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for International Relations Sayed Kassem said this meeting is specified to discuss the means of the Islamic countries' contribution to building a camp for sheltering the Kosovo refugees in Albania, similar to the camp that Turkey has established at its own expense in Albania.
He added that this meeting is to be held during the coming days in Turkish capital before the periodic meeting of OIC foreign ministers, which is to be held on June 28 in Burkina Faso to discuss the problems of the Islamic world, specifically the Jerusalem issue and the Kosovo crisis.
