Annan recommends UNDOF extension

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan recommended a six-month extension of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which monitors the cease-fire between Syria and Israel. The extension of the program, due to expire on May 31, will last until November 30.
Annan added that UNDOF faces a shortfall of $53.6 million that is owed to countries contributing troops to the force.
