Syrian - Russian agreement on peaceful use of nuclear energy

An agreement was signed in Moscow on Wednesday on the peaceful solution for nuclear energy between the governments of Syria and the Russian Federation for ten years.
The agreement was signed on the Syrian side by the director general of the Atomic energy commission, Ibrahim Othman, and the Russian side was represented by Yevgeniy Olegovich Adamov, acting Russian minister of atomic energy.
The press secretary for the Russian minister announced that the two sides are committed to developing economic, technical and economic relations on the grounds of common interests.
Following the inauguration ceremony, Othman said the agreement "will enrich the established relations between Syria and Russia and set the foundation of solid infrastructures for the 21st century.
For his part, Adamov stressed that the "two sides proceeded towards the agreement through long years."
