Areas cultivated with cotton in Syria exceed production expectations

Areas cultivated with cotton in Syria until May 9 reached 242,346 hectares at an implementation rate of 106%. An implementation rate is a stated goal set for a certain area or a certain product at the planing stage, and a rate above 100% means that expectations were surpassed, and bellow 100%, planing expectations were not met.
The bulletin issued by the directorate of agricultural affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture said that areas cultivated with cotton in all the country's provinces are distributed as follows: al-Hassaka province 84,000 hectares, Deir ezz Zour 24,942 hectares; al-Raqqa 50,000 hectares, the Euphrates basin 2,700 hectares, al-Assad farm 845 hectares; Aleppo 45,150 hectares, Idleb 10,250 hectares, al-Ghab 16,500 hectares; Hama 5,741 hectares, Homs 1,450 hectares, and some 768 hectares in the Damascus countryside.
The highest execution average was Homs representing 207%, in Aleppo the execution rate was 111%, al-Raqqa 108%, al-Hassaka 105% and al-Ghab 103%.
