Renault bus factory in Cairo

The French Renault automotive company decided establishing a factory for manufacturing components for cars and busses in Egypt and exporting them to markets in Middle East and Africa in participation with the Egyptian Ghabour group.

Mounir Ghabour, the head of the group's board of directors, told ArabicNews.com today that the cost of this factory reaches 40 million Egyptian pounds and that it will produce 1,000 busses each year, especially in the field of rconditioned and tourist busses in addition to the attempt of winning contracts for governmental passenger transportation companies to increase the volume of busses produced.

Ghabour owns a production line for Ghabour busses in association with the Swedish company Scania, through its registered branch in Yugoslavia. It produces between 2,000 and 2,500 busses a year, most of which are specified for export to Arab and African markets.
