Saudi-Iranian assertion to develop relations

In the context of his current visit to Saudi Arabia which is in its fourth day, Iranian President Muhammad Khatami and members of the accompanying delegation arrived in al-Zahran city located in the eastern part of the kingdom, coming from the al-Madina al-Munawara.

The Iranian President and his companions visited King Fahd University for petroleum and minerals and became acquainted with the various activities and scientific researches conducted by the factories of the research institute.

Meanwhile, Saudi and Iranian dailies underlined in their Tuesday commentaries the importance of developing bilateral relations and its positive reflections on the march of Iranian-Arab relations.

The two countries' papers added that President Khatami's visit to Saudi Arabia has placed the relations between the two countries on their rightful track, based on clear understanding to all challenges imposed on the region and mutual respect for achieving common interests.
