Inaugurating a representation office for a Dutch bank in Cairo

The Dutch bank ABN AMRO decided to open a representation office in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

A source in the Egyptian central bank said the seriousness of the request of this Dutch bank is currently being discussed for its ability to present distinguished services in the Egyptian market.

The source told ArabicNews.com that the rights of the contributors in the bank exceed $15 billion, where the bank occupies the 14th position among the international banks, achieving profits last year that amounted to $2.2 billion. The bank has branches all over the world.

The source concluded its statements by saying that this a first step in boosting the economic relations between Egypt and the Netherlands to increase the volume of mutual investments amounting now to 1.3 billion pounds, distributed among 49 projects in different fields.
