The Turkish-Israeli alliance

The Turkish daily Hurreyet has stated that Turkey and Israel will, if chairman of the Israeli Labor Party, Ehud Barak, wins the elections for Israeli prime minister, form a peace alliance in the region.
The paper quoted "Alon Leil," a high-ranking aide in the Labor Party as saying on Monday that his party stands with strengthening Israeli-Turkish relations in the framework of an expanding context that will be conducive to improving Israel's relations with the neighboring countries.
He said if Israel could improve its relations with Egypt, Cairo will eventually not react negatively towards the carrying out of Turkish-Israeli joint military maneuvers.
Simultaneously, normalizing Israeli - Palestinian relations will have a positive impact on Turkey's dialogue with the Arab states, he said.
