Sudan to open dialogue with the opposition

The leadership council of the Congress Party in Sudan has agreed to open the door to dialogue with opposition forces. This was expressed in a meeting of the council chaired by Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
During the meeting, the secretary general of the Congress Party, Hassan al-Turabi, gave a report on his meeting with al-Sadeq al-Mahdi in Geneva.
He added that the government and the opposition have agreed to convene a national dialogue conferences that will be conducive to making an accord very soon.
The Congress Party's council encouraged the country's higher political leadership to proceed in the efforts of achieving reconciliation.
