Kuwait offers women the right to be candidates, to vote

Kuwait has decided to offer Kuwaiti women the full right to nominate themselves and take part in the elections of the Nation's Council (the parliament) and the municipality council as of the year 2003. In a statement to reporters on Sunday, the Kuwaiti first deputy premier and foreign minister, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad, said the Kuwaiti Cabinet approved in its Sunday's session a law on this matter.
