New Yemeni embassy in Kuwait, Meguid says this is Arab reconciliation

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah on Sunday received a message from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, delivered over by Yemeni Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajmal during his meeting with Sheikh Jaber on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah met with Bajmal, and the two ministers discussed "bilateral relations and means of developing them in strengthening fraternal relations between the two sisterly countries." On Sunday, morning the Yemeni minister hoisted the Yemeni flag on the new Yemeni embassy in Kuwait.

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid expressed his consent towards the return of Yemeni - Kuwaiti relationships to normal, and he expressed hopes that the two countries succeeded in their mutual endeavors to upgrade their relations and develop these relations for the interest of the two countries.

Abdul Meguid said he considered the Kuwaiti - Yemeni meeting as coming within the efforts exerted to rectify the Arab atmosphere and give a strong push to restore Arab solidarity.

Bajmal concluded today the talks he held in Kuwait with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheik Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, during which they discussed comprehensive normalization and the resumption of air trips between the two countries, which were stopped since the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1991 and the Yemeni support for Iraq.
