Canceling censorship over foreign printings to Jordan
Jordan, Politics, 5/15/1999
Jordan's King Abdullah issued a royal decree to cancel the prior censorship over foreign publications sent to Jordan.
Abd Allah El-Ganoum, the head of censorship on publishing said to Jordanian television yesterday that the decree includes newspapers and magazines from all over the world, as it became the right of the Jordanian companies to import such publications without limits or conditions.
The official said the censorship will remain over books either in the Arabic language or in other languages, in addition to the importance that the Jordanian companies working in the field of importing publications have prior approval for carrying the names of publications to be imported.
