King Hassan II praises army on its 43rd anniversary

King Hassan II praised the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) for their endurance, perseverance and devotion in safeguarding Morocco's sacred values in the order of the day issued on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the FAR creation.
The king, who is also the supreme chief and the chief of staff of the Royal Armed Forces, underlined that the FAR's endurance, perseverance and devotion are the best token for the safeguard of Morocco's sacred values, so that the country remains an invulnerable stronghold, enabling its sons to live in peace and serenity.
"You are a source of pride for your co-citizens," the sovereign said adding that the Moroccan Armed forces have always evidencedcourage, loftiness and self-denial. "Your sincere commitment, loyalty and self-denial in the social and humanitarian actions, such as assistance to disasters' victims, are a best evidence to the exemplary cohesion and firm ties existing between all social categories and our armed forces," King Hassan II said.
"Our goal is that our Royal Armed forces preserve their authentic values and centuries-old traditions, that the human element be on top of their concerns, and that they preserve their overture capacity onto the external world so that they be an efficient implement in the service of the nation, ensuring the defense of the country's territorial integrity," the sovereign said urging the FAR to remain attached to security, stability and peace at the international level, these being values that Morocco has tirelessly upheld.
The Royal Armed Forces, which group the air, ground and navy forces, were created on May 14, 1956 by Hassan II, who was then crown prince.
The Moroccan media of all trends have published large comments on the commemoration of the creation of the FAR, paying tribute to "this shield of the nation" which is at the same time at the service of Arab and African brotherhood. The media also hailed the courage and self-denial of the Moroccan Army which is defending the country's territorial integrity.
