Tunisia to raise the minimum wage

The Tunisian government decided to increase the minimum rates of monthly wages in the public and private sectors with a rate varying between 3.3% and 3.7% at the beginning of July. A Tunisian press statement said the Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs determined that the minimum rate of monthly wages will be decided on the basis of a 40-hour work week at 156 dinars, an increase of 3.3% over the current wages.
The ministry has specified the minimum rate for the daily wage in the agricultural sector at 6 dinars, an increase of 3.7% over the current wages.
