Economic show for Moroccan expatriates opens in France
Morocco-France, Economics, 5/14/1999
An economic and commercial show opened Thursday in the French city of Bourget to inform Moroccans living in France about the business opportunities in their homeland.
The week-long event, the third of its kind organized in France, seeks to enhance contacts between Moroccan expatriates and inform them on administrative procedures and on how to do business in Morocco.
The show displays Morocco's economic potential and investment incentives offered in the fields of tourism, housing, communication, banking, transport and real estate.
A similar event opened last week in Brussels to the benefit of Moroccans settled in the Benelux countries, namely Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
There are about 2.5 million Moroccans living abroad. Their remittances of hard currency reached up to last February around $301 million against $286 million recorded in the previous year.
