Mansour wins chairmanship of Egyptian - American trade chamber
Egypt, Business, 5/14/1999
Egyptian businessmen Mohammed Mansour won the post of head of the Egyptian - American trade chamber with recommendation after the withdrawal of the only candidate opposing him, Ramzi Rushdi.
Mohammed Mansour owns the Mansour Group for Development, which represents US companies like General Motors, Caterpillar and MacDonald's.
Mansour is considered one of the establishers of the trade chamber since 1992 and he occupied posts on its former councils.
The new board of directors will start its work in June for a two-year term, and Mansour will replace businessman Ahmed Shawki, who did not nominate himself according to the chamber's constitution which prevents reelection of the chairman for more than one session.
