El-Baz: Egypt never interferes in Palestinian decisions
Egypt, Politics, 5/13/1999
The Egyptian president's political advisor Osama El-Baz announced that Egypt will never interfere in Palestinian decisions, supporting the Palestinian right to self-determination and proclaiming their state at a suitable time.
He said the role of Egypt is to support any decision made by the Palestinians, especially as they have a national authority and legislative councils.
This was said at a meeting El-Baz held with the students of El-Azhar University yesterday.
El-Baz added that the most important principle in Egypt's foreign policy is not to be subjected to any country regardless of its position.
He said the visit of President Mubarak to Asian countries is not directed against any other country, but it comes within the framework of Egypt's foreign policy that is greatly concerned with establishing relations and cooperation with the East and West.
He added that there is no fear of a cultural invasion in light of globalization, saying that no country dares to invade the Egyptian mind, thus the Egyptians have a great amount of cultural and religious stock making them able to confront the cultural invasion.
