Islamic Call party denies meeting with US, British representatives
Syria-Iraq, Politics, 5/10/1999
The Islamic Call party has denied any links to the meeting of the Iraqi opposition groups held with the representatives of the US and British governments over which mass media has made wide coverage. In the said meetings the "the al-Dawa (call) party cadres" are often mentioned as one of the participating sides. In a press release issued in Damascus on Saturday, the party's political bureau said that such reports would make the reader think that the "Islamic Call Party" is the one that is participating in such meetings. The party's political bureau added that the "Cadres of the al-Dawa Party" is totally different from the "Islamic Call Party."
