Large fire in Bahrain

A fire broke in a building containing a shoe-factory and offices near Manama on Saturday, resulting in damage estimated at a cost of more than US $92,000. The Bahraini "Gulf Daily News" said on Sunday that some 12 workers escaped from the fire whose cause is not known, adding that the police opened an investigation to learn the reasons behind the incident. Bahrain continues to suffer fires thought to be intentionally set by opposition groups.
