Qatar's successful mediation between Sudan, Eritrea

The general secretariat for the Gulf Cooperation Council states on Sunday in Riyadh expressed satisfaction over the efforts exerted by the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani, in restoring diplomatic relations between Sudan and Eritrea and establishing reasons for confidence and reconciliation between the two neighborly countries for the welfare of the two peoples and in ensuring security in the region.
In a statement he made in Riyadh on Sunday, GCC Secretary General Sheikh Jamil Hujeilan said the "good offices" exerted by the ruler of Qatar, coupled with reconciliation between the two conflicting sides, have expressed the desire to maintain stability in the region.
