Egypt, Business, 5/7/1999
Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mamdouh El-Beltagi stressed intensification of procedures monitoring quality control in Egyptian hotels to guarantee the quality of the services presented to tourists.
The minister said in statements to ArabicNews.com that Egypt is "forming committees that comprise inspectors from the ministries of tourism, health, interior, public works and culture to inspect hotels to ensure compliance with standards adhering to Egypt's reputation."
El-Beltagi added that quality is the main element in maintaining this reputation in international markets, and he warned of the low level in the quality of service in some hotels which are made on the account of prices.
