Syrian-Jordanian higher committee agenda

The Jordanian news agency said in its Thursday report that the joint Syrian-Jordanian higher committee which will convene its meeting in Amman at the beginning of June will discuss means of developing and strengthening bilateral relations between them.
The agency added that the Jordanian agenda includes Jordanian ideas that will be debated during the joint meeting of the preliminary Syrian - Jordanian committee, which precedes the joint higher committee meetings. This Jordanian work agenda includes discussions on a new trade agreement to replace the trade agreement recently enacted and workable since 1975. The Jordanian news agency added that in order to revitalize cultural relations, the two sides will sign an executive programm for cultural and scientific cooperation for the years 1999 through 2001. This area of cooperation includes information, education, higher education, tourism and culture.
The agency added the Jordanian agenda concerning energy and mineral resources includes a proposal to sign a joint protocol for cooperating in the field of energy and mineral resources. In the area of labor force, the Jordanian news agency added a draft project was laid to organize the entry of the Labour force between the two states. Concerning encouraging and developing exports and trade centers the Jordanian agenda states the opening of a trade consulate in the Jordanian embassy in Syria and the establishing of exhibition and exchanging of information.
