US company studies establishing factory for treating gas in Lebanon

The US M.W. Kellogg Company won a contract to conduct the technical studies regarding a factory for treating gas which forms a main part of a project to providing Lebanon with its needs of gas to generate electric energy.
Other American and European countries are competing to win the contract to study a pipeline project which will transfer Syrian gas to Lebanon with a capacity of 3 million cubic meters annually.
Of the most prominent companies the French company Sofer Yagas and the American Parsons company.
Lebanese Minister of Electricity and Water Resources Soliman Trabolis visited Damascus recently to resume negotiations with Syrian officials concerned with supplying Lebanon with its needs of gas, while it is expected that bidding conditions will be ready before the end of current year to be presented on the companies that desire implementation.
