Discovering five new archeological cemeteries in Luxor by chance
Egypt, Culture, 5/6/1999

A chance discovery revealed five new archeological cemeteries in Luxor whose age dates back to 4,500 years ago. These cemeteries were discovered at the beginning of placing the foundation stone for a construction of a large tourism project in this area.

These cemeteries are carved in stone and are situated on 15 acres in the El-Tood area in Luxor, which is located outside the archeological territories subject to the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni made an urgent plan to resume archeological discovery in the area and prepare it to be placed on the map of tourism locations.
