Ratifying Arab anti-terrorism agreement

The validity of the Arab antiterrorism agreement is to start on May 7, after it was ratified by the council of interior ministers and justice in their joint meeting last month.

Meanwhile, the secretary-general of the Arab interior minister council, Ahmed Ben Mohammed Salem, confirmed that the states that have ratified the agreement through last month are Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Egypt and Tunisia while the rest of the states are still continuing their measures for ratification.

El-Salem added that Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz called for specifying a date to hold a meeting of the joint ministerial committee he chairs and comprising ten ministers representing five member states in the interior minister council and five others states representing the Arab justice ministers' council.

He added that the joint ministerial committee will try to put the items of the anti -terrorism agreement into implementation and take executive measures in both the security and juridical fields.
