Lebanese president to visit Jordan
Lebanon-Jordan, Politics, 5/5/1999
Lebanese President Emile Lahoud will head at the beginning of next week to Jordan for an official visit, the first since he assumed his post, to answer an invitation presented by Jordan's King Abdullah Bin Hussein.
Prince Ali Bin Hussein said the two leaders will discuss the peace process' development in the light of the Israeli elections that will be held May 17, as well as the coordination between the two countries regarding the peace process in light of Israel's commitment to implementing the Wadi Araba accord with Jordan.
The prince, who is visiting Beirut and who delivered the invitation for the Lebanese president, added that his visit was successful and reflected the depth of the comprehensive fraternal relations between the two countries.
He said his discussions with Lebanese officials tackled different fields between the two countries as well as developing relations.
He expressed his deep concern following his visit to south Lebanon and Qana city in which Israel committed a massacre in 1996, hailing the Lebanese people's ability to overcome what happened to them.
