Qatar will raise the case of UAE during Khatami's visit to Doha
Qatar-United Arab Emirates, Politics, 5/5/1999

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Hassem Bin Jabir said that his country will raise the issue of the dispute between the United Arab Emirates and Iran over three Gulf Islands during the discussions to be held during the anticipated visit of Iranian President Mohammed Khatami to Doha next week.

The Qatari minister renewed at the conclusion of the joint high committee's work between the UAE and Qatar his country's support for the UAE's initiatives to resolve the case of the occupied Islands peacefully or through international arbitration.

The UAE and Qatar said that their bilateral cooperation will be a source of joint Gulf work's strong support to the efforts in the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

At the conclusion of the meetings of the joint higher committee between them yesterday the two states expressed a desire to develop bilateral cooperation through specialized ministerial committees that were agreed upon after the signing of an agreement to establish the joint higher committee on Monday.
