Kuwaiti government and National Assembly face off over print of Quran
Kuwait, Politics, 5/4/1999
The Kuwaiti State's council witnessed a strong debate between Minister of Justice and Endowments Ahmed al-Kolieb and the Islamic members of the parliament due to mistakes in publishing copies of the holy Quran.
Deputy Abas El-Khodari led the attack by accusing the minister of negligence and not revising the print mistakes before raising the copies for sale in markets.
Rumors spread on Saturday regarding the government's resignation or the approach of an important ministerial adjustment to it, but Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed denied the resignation and excluded the possibility of a ministerial adjustment soon.
