Constitutional monarchy opens wider alternation horizons than republican regimes, Moroccan premier
Morocco, Politics, 5/3/1999
The constitutional monarchy opens wider horizons for alternation than the republican regime, Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi said.
"The constitutional monarchies in the Arab world open wider horizons for alternation in power than the republican regimes," Youssoufi told the Egyptian Al-Ahly daily.
The constitutional monarchy by its nature is more opened onto alternation, because it plays an arbitration role between the political powers, ensures the continuity of the state, its symbols and institutions, while supervising the democratic process so that alternation be operated within the respect of the political game rules, he elaborated.
