Egypt-South Africa, Politics, 5/3/1999

President of South Africa Nelson Mandela is to arrive tomorrow in Islamabad, heading a high-ranking delegation on a one-day visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz al-Sharif.

Sources in South Africa's embassy in Cairo said today that Mandela's talks in Pakistan will tackle relations between the two countries and means of enhancing these relations in the future as well as the latest developments in regional and international areas of joint concern, especially Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan.

Meetings took place during the last few months between officials from the two countries, and Pakistani Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz also visited South Africa.

The sources added that Mandela will stop over in Cairo on his return from Islamabad to consult with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak regarding joint issues.
