Arab Civil Aviation Organization discuss standardization and liberalization
Regional, Economics, 5/3/1999

The Arab Civil Aviation Organization will hold an extraordinary session this May 4-5 in Rabat to examine latest regional and international developments in civil aviation.

The organization says the special session was convened in view of the urgency of the issues on its agenda, mainly a program to liberalize civil aviation and a draft agreement on the standardization of standards of carriers' responsibility and the adoption of an Arab code of automatic booking.

The general assembly is also scheduled to look into the Arab stand regarding the use of languages in air navigation and the project to launch an Arab satellite for air navigation.

Top executives of Arab air companies and delegates of Arab and international specialized organizations are expected to attend the session.

The organization, which normally holds its general assembly every two years, was expected to meet by mid 2000.
