Moroccan Jews set up world union

Moroccan Jews coming from all over the world set up over the weekend in Marrakesh a World Union of Moroccan Jews, a body that will strive for peace between Arabs and Jews.

The constituent meeting of the union is currently being held in Marrakesh in the presence of several figures, including advisor to King Hassan II for economic and financial affairs, Andre Azoulay.

A colloquy is being held on the fringes of the Marrakesh meeting to expound the stages covered by the Moroccan Jewish community and its attachment to its country of origin and to King Hassan II.

The encounter is also studying means to contribute to the advancement of the peace process between Palestinians and Israelis, the Arab-Jewish dialogue and coexistence between Muslims and Jews.

A large Israeli delegation, including government officials, mps from various trends and businessmen, is attending the Marrakesh meeting.
