Saudi defense minister condemns Turkish-Israeli military cooperation pact

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz has condemned the Turkish-Israeli military cooperation pact. In a statement he made during his visit to Iran on Saturday, the Saudi minister said the Turkish - Israeli agreement constitutes a threat to regional security.

He noted Serbian crimes against the Muslims of Kosovo and stressed the need for cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia to contain the Kosovo crisis.

The Saudi minister also stressed that maintaining unity in the Gulf region is "the responsibility of the people of the Gulf themselves." Prince Sultan, who is currently visiting Tehran, dounced any alliance by any country in the region with Israel, a reference to the Turkish - Israeli alliance, SANA reported.
