AFP quoted Ali Bin Hammoud al-Bourseidi, Oman's minister of the interior, as saying, "We have completed the first phase and we will shortly sign other agreements for demarcating our joint borders in other sectors."

The Omani minister added that after signing the special appendixes in the border agreements between the two states: "We proceed with our discussions with the UAE, smoothly and at joint understanding."

On Saturday, Sultan Qaboos of Oman and President of the United Arab Emirates signed in al-Sahar city in Oman appendixes of the said agreement.
