Egypt-Netherlands, Economics, 4/30/1999

Many Dutch corporations decided to finance many Egyptian projects on the B.O.T (build-operate-transfer) system, the most prominent of which are establishing a wind-powered electricity station with an annual output of 300 megawatts as well as establishing a commercial harbor in the El-Ein El-Sokhna area on the Red Sea.

The Dutch side expressed its readiness to participate in establishing the new harbor in East Port Said and to get into new fields like establishing highways and airports, constructing the third stage of the Cairo subway or Alexandria's subway and developing Alexandria harbor.
