Jordanian-Turkish military exercises
Jordan-Turkey, Military, 4/29/1999
Joint Jordanian-Turkish military exercises are expected to start at the beginning of May and last for one month, to "get acquainted with the experience of the Turkish armed forces and to acquire expertise and raise the capabilities of the Jordanian armed forces."
Well-informed Jordanian sources said that the maneuvers fall in the context of the joint military training between the two countries, noting that similar several agreements are being conducted with Arab, Islamic and western states.
On Sunday, the chief of staff in the Jordanian Army, Lt. Gen. Abdul Hafez al-Kabena, announced joint maneuvers and exercises between Jordan and each of Egypt, UAE and Oman.
