London seminar on Arab-Iranian relations

Participants in a seminar about relations between Iran and the Arab world has underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation and dialogue between the two countries in all fields to ensure stability in the region.
Taking part in the seminar which organized by the Arab studies center, several politicians and academics from the Arab Gulf states, Egypt and Iran and a professor at London University, Fred Holiday.
The problem of the three Gulf islands claimed by both the United Arab Emirates and Iran is the main problem that faces relations between the two sides.
Two academics from the UAE, Dr. Hassan al-Oleikam and Dr. Muhammad al-Abdullah, gave historical evidence of the UAE's sovereignty over the three islands. Among the speakers were two members of the Saudi Shoura council, Dr. Fahd al-Harithi and Dr. Othman al-Rawaf, who praised the "reformation" policy pursued by Iranian President Muhammad Khatami who worked for strengthening and purifying Arab - Iranian relations.
Other participants in the seminar welcomed the positive steps taken by President Khatami to strengthen dialogue and constructive cooperation with the Arab Gulf states and other Arab and Islamic countries.
