Syrian- Turkish transport committee continues deliberations

The joint Syrian-Turkish committees in charge of transport continued their meetings on Tuesday, debating issues of bilateral cooperation in the areas of land, air, sea and rail transportation.
The air cargo committee discussed ways and means of reformulating the articles of the agreement with a view to coping with modernization.
The railway committee, for its part, agreed to resume operations of the Istanbul - Aleppo - Damascus passenger train and to set up a new station linking Turkey's Nseibin area to Syria's Qamishli city. The two sides also discussed exchanging expertise and holding training courses on the development of railway activities.
The sea and transport committees debated ways of developing bilateral cooperation and ways of overcoming obstacles hindering mutual works between the Turkish and Syrian sea-ports.
