Six Israelis, three militiamen wounded in south Lebanon

Lebanese security sources said on Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces continued attacking on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. The Lebanese sources added that the Israeli heavy artillery shelled the towns of Jabaa, Qabriha, and Khurbet Salam in al-Tuffah district. It added that 155 mm calibre missiles fell across the target areas.

The Lebanese sources added that the bombardment also hit Shaqra, Toulin, al-Sawanneh, Majdal Suloum and Qallaweyeh towns in the central sector as well as Eita al-Jabal, al-Qeseyeh and Jabal al-Zaatar in the western sector.

The sources said Israeli jet fighters carried out several mock raids over the western and central sectors, Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts.

Further reports from south Lebanon said that Israeli warplanes raided the al-Tuffah area in south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources reported that the planes fired four air-to-surface missiles at Sujoud hill.

Furthermore, Israeli warplanes launched mock raids on the towns of Sidon, Tyre and Nabatiyeh up to the western Bekaa. The Israeli planes were intercepted by Lebanese Army anti-aircraft fire.

Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance froups on Tuesday stormed the pro-Israeli SLA Lahd Militia position of Sujoud using rockets and machine guns. A statement released by the resistance said the position's fortifications were destroyed, and soldiers manning the position were killed or wounded. The Lebanese resistance flags were hoisted for more than one hour after the operation, the statement added.

An earlier statement said a Lebanese resistance group attacked the location of the SLA militia's Contingent 70, and the position was directly hit.

Furthermore, Israel Radio reported on the operations carried out by the Lebanese resistance against the Israeli forces and pro-Israeli militia positions inside the occupied strip of south Lebanon. It reported the wounding of six Israeli soldiers and three militiamen as a result of these operations.
