Barak: Clinton's message a second Ballfour declaration to the Palestinians

Leader of the Israeli Labor Party, Ehud Barak, who is also a candidate for Israeli prime minister in the elections to be held on May 17 has described the message sent by US President to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat as a "Ballfour declaration for the Palestinians."
In a statement published on Tuesday by the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot, Barak said he believed the message will affect Israel. Barak added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu succeeded in obtaining the Ballfour declaration to the Palestinians because of the losses inflicted because of him since he assumed power.
However, the office of the Israeli prime minister has expressed satisfaction with the US message in which it found "a great support to the Israeli stand."
