Proceedings to resume on Thursday in terrorist case
Egypt, Judicial, 4/27/1999
The Egyptian state supreme security court is resuming on Thursday hearings of the public prosecution and defense in the terrorism case of Ahmed Abd El-Wahab Khalil, under the chairmanship of counselor Ismail Hamdi, head of the court.
The state investigation arrested the fugitive leader of Quena regulation, Ahmed Abd El-Wahab, four years after arresting all other members of the regulation in 1995.
The accusation comprises the defendant's contribution along with the rest of defendants in a criminal agreement aimed at implementing aggressive operations to assassinate policemen and citizens who know about their activities.
The decision stated that the criminals monitored Brigadier General Mahmud Saleh El-Deeb in Quena, southern Egypt and shot and killed him.
The prosecution demands the most severe penalty for the defendant, which is execution by hanging.
